“Summer TEAse” a GClubR Happy Hour Tea Party
In the spring of 2009, Gina Jackson, Marketing Director of the Fort Lauderdale History Center, approached Renée Quinn for help in raising awareness and dollars. The result was Not Your Traditional Tea Party.
On Friday, July 17, 2009 from 4pm to 7pm at the New River Inn, the Fort Lauderdale History Center and the GClub at Riverwalk Trust hosted a Happy Hour Tea Party. Guests enjoyed traditional tea and treats, wine sprizters, mar-TEA-ni’s, toasted coconut coladas, chocolates, salt water taffy, raffle prizes and more!
Set with GClub’s beautiful pink parasols, pink roses in teapots and pink & white linens…the room glowed. Both indoor and outdoor seating provided a cool break from the summer heat. Island City Bistro provided a variety of fresh brewed iced and hot teas…and Kilwin’s blended their favorite toasted coconut ice cream with Bacardi Dark Rum. Finlandia Vodka served an orange blossom mar-TEA-ni and there was a long island style iced tea on the rocks!
The GClub, created by Renée Quinn, is Riverwalk Trust’s new membership level that was developed to provide dedicated dollars to the Riverwalk Park & Marina. Renée connected GClub Partners to create this unique event: Premier Beverage, The Narrative Events, Island City Bistro, Kilwins Las Olas and Himmarshee Bar & Grill, We thank them for helping GClub fun-raise for one of our favorite Riverwalk Park partners – The Fort Lauderdale History Center… Go GClub, Go Riverwalk, Go Giving.
Press Coverage was provided by Sun Sentinel’s Society Scene (Cover and feature story) and Riverwalk Trust’s Go Riverwalk magazine.
The result: Fun, awareness, park activation and more dollars raised than ever before at a summer event for the History Center!
